Dragonseas & Co., Ltd (Dragonseas in Chinese called “GenHwa” ) was established in Taiwan, the Republic of China on  June, 1978, specializing in  metal handicrafts primarily for export.  For the first 15 years we were mainly an export company, receiving orders from abroad, subcontracting manufacture and providing quality control and close superintendence over it, and then exporting ourselves..

　

In the course of this business we naturally formed close alliances and cooperation with many subcontractors in the metal enameling field.  During that time, we also served as an agent for embroidered emblems and patches for various foreign customers, including Japan, United States of America and some European countries.

By 1991, it became obvious to us that in Taiwan, there had developed a serious shortage of the highly skilled labor metal enameling requires.  After an intense investigation abroad and after deep consideration we came to a decision that we must establish our own production facilitiesin Shanghai. Thus, in 1992, we took great pride in opening Shanghai GenHwa Metal Arts Co.,Ltd which we established and remains as our primary manufacturing site.

We believe our abilities and products to be at the very top of the industry and have developed enviable expertise in the manufacture of a wide variety of metal arts and crafts products which are of superb quality both as to production and design.  In 2003, we celebrated the tenth anniversary of  a  prosperous and growing Shanghai GenHwa Metal Arts Co., Ltd.  We currently employ 300 workers and generate 3.5 million US dollars annual revenue.

In 25 years of operation we have had many successes, but two major events are perhaps worthy of mention here. In 1992-1993, we were selected as supplier for Sponsors’ Promotional pins for Winter Olympic Lillehammer ’94 in Norway. We supplied more than 5 million pieces to them at that time, all delivered on time and of the highest quality. In 2001, Shanghai GenHwa Metal Arts Co., Ltd was awarded the coveted ISO 9001:2000 Quality Authentication rating which means that due to the unending efforts of our managers and staff  we achieved a products quality rating indicating a  defect rate lower than 1%.  We believe we are still improving from that high standard and are committed to continuous improvement in our manufacturing and service.

Dragonseas Shanghai (Shanghai GenHwa Metal Arts Co.,Ltd) is located in the first industrial zone of Xin Zheng Road, Qi-Bao, Ming Han Dist., Shanghai.  Below the top management of President Room,  there are three vice presidents, who are in charge of business, administration, and production individually.  The Business Vice President is in charge of internal and external trade business.  The Administrative  Department, which includes human resources, purchasing, general affairs, warehousing, finance and the MIS department,  plays an important role in supporting the production department.   The Production Vice President is responsible for manufacturing technology enhancement, quality control and quality assurance and improvement.  Subordinate to the  Production  Department,  is the Factory Department, Quality Control Department and Out Sourcing Department.  The Factory Department is control unit of manufacturing processes, and includes graphic design, die engraving, trimming tooling, stamping, etching, cloisonné hard enameling, soft enameling, soldering, buffing, plating, and packaging.  The Quality Department is in charge of incoming material quality inspection, under-production product quality inspection, and pre-package inspection.  The Out-sourcing Department is in charge of contacting and manufacturing products for subcontractors or assistant factories.
